Again, mostly about the books

donna_andrews's Click Here for Murder last night. Picoreview--not quite as cool as the first one, but still quite enjoyable. I'll elaborate when I do another book post. Meanwhile, Julie Czerneda's Migration won the mental tussle for what I get to read next. This should take me a while longer, since it's a rather substantial book!
In related news, I stopped at Third Place last night to see if they had any copies of Throne of Jade yet, to which the answer was "no". I did however note that they had a display up front for Octavia Butler novels, which I really appreciated, and I pondered which of her books I might like to get. They had both of the Parable novels in trade paperback as well as mass market form, but I actually liked the trade covers a lot better, and I'm thinking I may get the trade editions of those.
I suspect that I will be going on a Book Quest this weekend to the Barnes and Noble in Woodinville to pick Throne of Jade up. I could check the downtown Barnes and Noble, since it's only a couple of blocks out of my usual walking route to my evening bus stop, but I think I'll prefer to wait till the weekend because it'll give me an excuse to bike if the weather doesn't suck. Also, I want to give it a few more days to see if B&N sneaks in any early copies of Thunderbird Falls, which technically isn't due out until next week, but I'm going to look anyway. And Charlaine Harris' Dead as a Doornail should be out as well, now, so I'll be looking for that. And waffling between various and sundry other recommendations as well.
Speaking of Throne of Jade,
naominovik reports that there is a small error on its cover; they printed her name in the wrong font on the spine. However, she points out, this isn't nearly as entertaining an error as the three-armed heroine depicted on the cover of Christina Dodd's book Castles in the Air. I'm amused. It's official.
Last up, and only vaguely related to books, greetings to
artaxastra, now reading my journal! ^_^
