Pretty decent day all around
Jan. 15th, 2006 10:44 pmWent out to run some errands with
spazzkat and
solarbird this afternoon, over at the Woodinville shopping center. This let me accomplish three objectives: getting Polly a new litter box (a spiffy one with a little ramp in it that she can walk up, which will be kinder to her aging kitty legs), getting a new Swiss Army knife (and hopefully I won't have to give this one up in an airport security line), and spending a Barnes and Noble coupon that they mailed me on account of having bought a membership card the other day. I spent it on a Solas album, Waiting for an Echo, since I'd wanted to get another of their records and I was more in the mood for that than for my runner-up contender, Carbon Leaf's 5 Alive.
And I did in fact listen to the album, which was pleasant, and I made sure all the instrumentals got added to my Celtic Instrumentals playlist. Seamus Egan knows how to build himself some good reels.
We actually had a break in the rain today, and although there were still a lot of clouds, there were actual bits of actual blue sky between them. The weather forecast claims we have another storm system on the way, so the respite won't be long, but it was at least nice to get a momentary breather before the deluge continues.
But the biggest satisfaction today was by far the writing, as I whipped out over 1,500 words today on two different books. Go me!
