That little snippet of song has been going through my head since yesterday evening, thanks to our viewing of Kong.
And it's official. King Kong holds up very, very well to a second viewing. I was very pleased with that, and also that
mamishka enjoyed the hell out of her first viewing when we went to go see it yesterday. (For those of you who may have missed it, my spoiler-rific review is here. I continue to be disappointed that it's not playing at the Cinerama, but the screens at the Woodinville theater don't suck, and so they do the movie justice. Yay!) For added amusement, we've still got the 1933 Kong on the Tivo, and I think I need to watch it again for giggles. I may even get the new DVD, too.
After our Giant Monkey viewing, Meems came back to MurkNorth with us and showed us all the goodies on her shiny new copy of Serenity. Good stuff there, especially the bloopers. Especially the bits with Nathan Fillion. Muahahaha. Also, it made me sniffle that they included the Joss Whedon introduction that was played in front of all the Can't Stop the Signal previews. Very nice touch indeed. And I'm looking forward to acquiring my own copy of this. :D Also, she brought us tasty cookies! Thank you, Meems!
(Meems, by the way, also tells us that the 1976 remake of Kong absolutely blows, and suggests that we put it up against Congo for our next Movie Suckoff. From what I've been seeing in the user comments on the 1976 version on IMDB, I fear it. I fear it so. But it sounds like great Movie Suckoff fodder.)
Today, since I didn't have to work,
solarbird and I went downtown to see the Tiffany art exhibit they have at the Seattle Art Museum. That was cool. There are some stunning pieces in that collection, and I was most impressed by the complex glass windows that were almost easy to mistake for paintings. Those of you who are local and who might like this sort of thing, go look at it before it's gone, and it's gone on 1/4!
All in all, a good day. Back to work tomorrow.
Monday miles: 3.4
Miles out of Hobbiton: 570.8
Miles out of Rivendell: 112.8
