Another restless night. So I stayed home today, in an attempt to try to actively combate this insomnia thing. I just got back from a walk down to Lake Forest Park Town Centre, where I purchased the following:
  • "Sleepytime Extra" tea by Celestial Seasonings. It's like their "Sleepytime" tea, which is chamomile and peppermint and one of my favorite combinations already, but the "Extra" is valerian. Had this recommended to me by [livejournal.com profile] caligogreywings, and shall try that first.
  • Some actual valerian.
  • A product called Melatonex, which has melatonin in it.

I shall see which of these actually does anything about letting me get some sleep this weekend. Or at the very least, tonight. [livejournal.com profile] solarbird and I want to go down to the U-district tomorrow so we can get my bike and I can get some new bubble bath at the place I like on the Ave, and then we're going to ride our bikes back since I need to fetch my bike from MurkSouth. But if I'm going to do this, I need to be coherent.

And because I haven't actually bought any books in a while, I picked up three novels: William Gibson's Pattern Recognition (which is not in my usual line of fare, but I liked Difference Engine), J.D. Robb's latest (Visions in Death), and Sharon Shinn's Angel-Seeker. I still actually need to read Angelica, but I like Shinn enough that her Samaria books are now 'buy, no questions asked'.

But now, for tea. My primary ambition of the afternoon: see if I can take a decent nap.
