Another short night...
Nov. 26th, 2003 12:20 am... between having more issues with my annathepiper.org domain which seem to be boiling down to my secondary DNS being wonky. This being the server maintained by ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
kathrynt, who along with solarbird is investigating the issue tonight. It seems her server still thinks my domain lives on our old server's IP address, which is the one that ended in .3. As opposed to our current server, which ends in .102. This explains the earlier issues I was having, too.
We have a web workaround in place now so hopefully that'll fix the problem until Kathryn and Dara figure out what's wrong. Dara says that if you hit any site on the web it will actually be random as to whether you get the primary or secondary servers, so these occasional hits on burninghand causing only erratic repro's of the problem are explained by this.
Plus, I needed a bit more attention to my guitar tonight thanks to leftover general crankiness from this morning as well as random vexation from machines acting up at work.
Plus, I found another round of word count discrepancy just by adding all the numbers I had listed for my chapters on my index page. Which added up to just under 40K rather than just over. Plus, doublechecking the various chapters in Word, I got different numbers this time around, and even after accounting for those differences I still came in at just under 40K. So I have to assume that I was making a math error somewhere. Grf. To a girl who is just anal enough when balancing her checkbooks to keep at it until she accounts for every last nickel, this is very annoying. Especially because I don't know what I did to cause this discrepancy!
Anyway, the whole upshot of this is that I've only just managed about a thousand words tonight. Accounting for the aforementioned discrepancies, this now puts me at 40,959 words.
Bed now. God, I'm tired!
