Anata no neko nihongo hanashimasen.

Slowly I am getting a handle on this notion of communicating in Japanese. Though it's taking me a bit to handle some of the pronunciations and remembering what version of verbs go where. I had a bit of a problem with "kinō watashi wa hon kaimas demo neko araimasen." I was TRYING to say "tomorrow I will buy a book but not wash the cat," and forgot that "kinō" is actually yesterday and not tomorrow, so I had the tense on my verb wrong. However, I had fun on the way home trying to practice the pronunciation of "kinō watashi wa neko araismen," and inquiring of Polly what kind of cat she was and whether she did in fact speak Japanese.

I am not yet versed on how to say "What are you, nuts? Get me the treats, biped!"

And oh yes, my subconscious is apparently still very weird

I dreamed this morning about being at a Great Big Sea concert. No surprise there, even if it was one with seats instead of the open-dance-floor situation to which I have grown happily accustomed.

The strange parts involved walking into the concert apparently freshly out of the shower and wrapped in towels. Dream-Me realized that this was apparently a bad idea, and I was able to change to something fit to wear in public just by thinking about it.

Then in the concert I wound up in the wrong row, but it didn't seem to matter. And my friend Brent from Kentucky, who I have not seen more than a time or two since solarbird and I moved out here to Washington, actually was in the seat on the end, so Alan Doyle came up and made him sing a verse of something.

I seem to remember Mr. Doyle also tossing me a look and a comment to the effect of 'next time we're back come play with us'... but I am not trusting my subconscious lately, with the groggy state I'm in. ;) I think it's mocking me!
