New Faerie Blood and Bone Walker print editions

After working with fellow indie authors in NIWA for a few years now, I’ve decided that it’s stupid that I don’t have print copies of my books available on Amazon (and by extension, a couple other places that carry books published via CreateSpace/KDP). Some time in the next month or so, I’m going to fix this problem. There are going to be new Faerie Blood and Bone Walker print editions!

The particular motivation here: I’m flat out of copies of Faerie Blood, since I sold my last remaining five copies at Norwescon (yay!). I’m down to only five copies left of Bone Walker as well. These will be the last remaining espresso-book-machine copies of that book!

So if anybody wants ’em, this would be a real good time to get ’em. I bumped the price down to $12 at Norwescon after I sold out of Faerie Blood, and will keep that price until they’re gone. Likewise, I have a couple of copies with misprinted covers, and a couple of damaged ones, available for only $5. (The damaged ones were ones I’d signed and mailed out to Kickstarter backers. But they were damaged by the Post Office in transit and came back to me.)

Since I’m doing whole new print editions, I’ll also do a minor edit pass on both books. Notably, I’ll finally correct that typo in Chapter 20 of Faerie Blood in the name of the demon, Azganaroth! But I’ll fix a few other minor typos as well as I find them. Dara will make any adjustments necessary in the PDF and print masters, including the edition numbering in the books’ front matter pages.

Once I finish the edit passes, I’ll deploy the print PDFs up to Amazon. I’ll be able to get author proof copies and vet them before finally releasing the new editions for sale.

The end result? Hopefully, more discoverability and ease of purchase for people who don’t already know me or follow me on social media. Hopefully nicer covers, too! Once I deal with any hiccups in the process, I’ll deploy print books this way moving forward. I’ll be doing Walk the Wards this way as well.

I wouldn't mind at all getting a copy of Bone Walker. Delivery might be logistically challenging, though Seigel's Bagels are where they've always been...

I have mailed copies of books to Canada before! Last time I did it, I believe the shipping cost was six bucks and change, USD.

If we were to do a "avoid the shipping costs" thing, there is also potential to arrange something via an intermediary. We WERE going to crash with friends for the Canada trip last weekend that we wound up not doing because I got hit with norovirus. :( We were going to bring said friends a few things which we were therefore not able to get to them, and my friend's already arranging with my wife for her to come south and get those things.

I could possibly relay a copy of the book back up with her and arrange for her to get it to you. If you like, I'll follow up with her about that. :)

Or, if you're okay with shipping costs, I'll just mail the thing to you!

Okay, can we try the friends route? How would you like to be paid? No, of course you'd like to be paid. In what Manner would you like to be paid?

Also, would you have alternatives to avoid needing to deal with Spamazon for future hard copies?

I'll talk to my friend re: getting a copy of Bone Walker to you, and what the timing on that would be. Some time in the next few weeks will be when she's planning to come south on her pickup run. More bulletins as events warrant.

Re: payment, you have a few options. I go into detail on those on my page on my Buying From Me page on my site.

As a Canadian, your best options might be a) get me money via Interac, as Dara and I do actually maintain an account in Canada, so that's possible; b) hit my PayPal.me link, paypal.me/annathepiper; or c) hit the Bandcamp link Dara has for Bone Walker on her music site (which is currently the best option for non-USians who might want to pay me via credit card).

Note that the Bandcamp link still has the $17 price point but I'm about to have Dara adjust that. (EDITING TO ADD: and this has now been adjusted to the current $12 price point).

Re: non-Amazon print copies moving forward, yes, I will continue to maintain a small personal stock of the books, it'll just be that Amazon will be printing them for me vs. the espresso book machine. As I've been doing already, I will continue to do periodic small print runs so that I will have copies to hand-sell, both online and at conventions.
