Date: 2013-10-11 02:31 pm (UTC)I was more just thinking along the lines of if you tried to do the same idea at the same scale but in a modern time frame, how you could actually pull it off. In this age of the Internet and smartphones and GIFS OR IT DIDN'T HAPPEN it'd be a lot harder to pull off the "imaginary boss" schtick. You'd need Laura or one of the ancillary characters (maybe Bernice or even Mildred, especially since Mildred was good with computers in the original show) to be able to do a LOT of hacking and Photoshoppery to plant fake Steele pics and possibly videos all over the Net.
And they might even have to have another character that they sometimes used as a model for shoots--but somebody not capable of actually solving crimes. He'd have to be bumped off or something to clear the way for Steele. Maybe that could happen in the pilot. :D
