So y'know how I was going all wtf-esque a few weeks ago when we had that spurt of wacky weather? Well, guess what it's doing tonight?

SNOWING. In SEATTLE. In APRIL. This is what is known in these parts as "fucked up". According to our article we have up today, it hasn't snowed this late in the year around here in something on the order of 30 years.

On my way home, it was still rain while I was downtown and walking to my bus stop. By the time my bus got to Lake City and 120th or so, it was starting to snow. Once we hit Kenmore, it was snowing in earnest.

It's thundersnow, too! I was walking up to the Murk from the bus stop just a little bit ago, and BOOO-OOO-OOOO-OOOOOOM went the sky overhead, twice even. It's starting to accumulate in the yard, too, though not yet on the pavement. It's not quite cold enough. But I did note when I got off the bus that three guys in utility vests were pushing an apparently dead car up the little hill that comes up from Burke-Gilman to the traffic light at 61st--so I'm expecting that the road conditions around here are going to suck tonight.

And OH LOOK, we have a snow advisory ETA 7:17pm HEAVY SNOW WARNING!

Yeah, I saw the snow prediction a couple of days ago and said "no WAY." So far we've had hail for about half an hour around 4, and nothing since.

Hope you and yours are all safe and off the roads.

It's wacky weather here too - it was 15C this afternoon, and now we're under a freezing rain warning!

We have a metric buttload of snow here, all of which came down between my being delivered home from Zappification (about 4 pm) and waking up again just now (8-ish). Would guess 40 cm anyway, and it is brilliantly dusky here now with glowing orange and red towering cumulus over the Straits to the east of us.

Eaves are dripping water so I think it's all going to melt by tomorrow anyway.

Glad I don't have **your** driveway to deal with, just have to walk to/from the lads' truck tomorrow on our moderately hilly high-street for (Yay! Last!) Zappification.

Here, have a picture of pretty much what my back porch view is right now.

Boing, tilt,

We had an EARTHQUAKE here in Illinois last night. I think Mother Nature is a bit peeved at us and trying to tell us something.

it's a week and a half before my birthday, and I just dusted snow off my dog. *eyes white front lawn* this nonsense better not stick, though something tells me my front flower bed full of blooming daffodils won't like this a bit.

Sheesh.

Some of the nice weather last weekend had me thinking that I'd be driving with my car's top down soon. Booooo.

Do ya think if we ask real nice Al Gore will ship us some of his global warming? I have got to get out and busk more.

I was in the car last night at 85th and 15th NW in Ballard (or Crown Hill, I guess) when the lightning flashed. I though for a second that a transformer on a power pole had blown. Then the thunder rolled through. All while my wipers were struggling with the heavy snow.

Sheesh!

PS: ceallaighgirl, is that avatar you at Wade's in Bellevue? Yay, you!

That's nothing. This year New Hampshire broke the record for greatest amount of snow in OVER 100 YEARS.

This planet is so fucked. Humans are a virus. :-P

lolz. i'll put an order on that for you... The past couple winters here have been rater freakish. I remember once either late in November/early december of last year where it was 70F at like midnight, then we got a really freakish storm with lots of wind, rain, thunder, and scary hued lightning about 3am, then 4 hours later when we all got out of work, there was 2" of snow
