Well, I was going to go to the "Writing a Novel in a Year" panel since [livejournal.com profile] naominovik and [livejournal.com profile] jaylake were both on it, but I'm pretty sure that approximately half the entire attending population of the con was crammed into Cascade 7 by the time I got there. So since I didn't want to stand the whole time with the weight of my computer bag dragging on my shoulder, I bailed and went to the art show instead. Right now I'm sitting in the lobby in a nice public place, watching folks go by, so I can see if I can spot any nifty costumes.

So far the Cat Nun Nurses still win for best costume I've seen today, but I've also spotted a decent Elric of Melnibone, a stormtrooper or two, the inevitable Captain Jack Sparrow, a guy in an Inuyasha costume (good costume, though he sadly did not have long flowing white hair; he had long flowing but perfectly ordinary brown hair instead) and a guy and a couple young women in what looked in passing like WWI-German-flavored uniform costumes getting their pictures taken. I spotted a guy in a Gambit costume from X-Men as well.

There's a table in the fandom tables area for a local group I hadn't heard of before--Battlestar Hyperion, a BSG fandom group. Bitchin'. ^_^ If I had any free cycles at all, I would actually think about joining a BSG fandom group.

There's a table for the Seattle in 2011 Worldcon bid, at which I really ought to throw some money, and a donation jar for the Match It For Pratchett campaign, at which I really ought to throw some money as well since that's just a generally awesome concept.

Robyn who I met from Writer's Weekend, and who is a devoted Browncoat, is here with her folks at a fandom table as well. They have a lot of Firefly/Serenity swag, and I shall have to ask them if they are aware of the album by the Persephone Pickers, since they do have the Bedlam Bards' album.

Other persons spotted: [livejournal.com profile] kendaer, [livejournal.com profile] ivolucien, and Liz Who Has No LJ, who looked absolutely smashing in her dress and makeup. And ooh, there goes someone in the first Enterprise-era Trek costume I've ever seen. That's a switch.

I have bought a surprising number of books: two by Esther Friesner (in fact, the ones that Ms. Friesner told me about when I got her autograph at Worldcon), Nobody's Princess and Temping Fate; Kat Richardson's Poltergeist, already mentioned; [livejournal.com profile] jpsorrow's The Skewed Throne, also already mentioned; [livejournal.com profile] mevennen's The Demon and the City, mass market edition, which I fully expect to be awesome; [livejournal.com profile] matociquala's Undertow; and another whose title has just shot out of my head but which I got on impulse because the blurb sounded cool.

I have purchased the obligatory Norwescon shirt, a T-shirt this time as opposed to the hoodies I've bought the last couple years, 'cause I wanted the shirt that said "Naomi Novik" on it, yay! And I have also purchased a Firefly shirt--the brown one that says "Browncoat" on the front and "We Aim To Misbehave" on the back.

I have not bought, though I did look for, both [livejournal.com profile] jimhines' Goblin Quest since I keep hearing he is hysterical, so I'd like to check him out; and [livejournal.com profile] blackaire's Night Life, since she's part of [livejournal.com profile] mdhenry's and [livejournal.com profile] blue_succubus's general posse, and if I like their books, I'm figuring I'll like hers too.
