The Indy trailer is up!
Feb. 14th, 2008 07:25 amThe trailer is out! Go! Watch! And join me in hoping this won't suck!
Okay, cue the fangirly grin as the March starts up... and okay, Harry looks old and crufty, but damn, it's good to see him again. Especially in the Hat. <3 And I did grin too at the lines he gets in the trailer. "Not as easy as it used to be"--har. Also good, Indy's acknowledging his age. ;) And, "Damn, I thought that was closer!"
Cate Blanchett looks interesting with the dark haircut, and Shia LeBeouf looks like he has potential. He looks appropriate to the era--leather-jacketed 50's kid. I grinned at his line, too, as well as Harry's response.
No sign of Karen Allen, but maybe they're saving her for the first longer trailer, since this is a teaser.
And, oooh, they're blowing up the warehouse where they put the Ark, aren't they? Wonder what they're going after in there. ;>
ETA, after watching hi-def version of the trailer and catching this in freeze-frame: HEY, there's a Roswell stamp on that crate Cate's looking at! Of COURSE there is!

Date: 2008-02-14 07:26 pm (UTC)As far as going all fangirly with the new trailer, shoot, I do that with just the music. I also love the line "Damn, I thought that was closer." BTW, who's the guy that says "This ain't going to be easy"? His voice sounds familiar, but his face doesn't ring a bell.
I've realized that I have no Indy Jones icons; I may have to rectify that soon.
Speaking of movies, the new Star Trek movie is due out in December and everyone has been cast. Karl Urban (the guy who played Eomer in LotR) has been slotted for "Bones" McCoy. I like him as an actor, but he'll be hard pressed to follow in DeForrest Kelley's shoes. Don't know if you've seen the line-up for the others cast or not. Urban is considerably older looking than the others, but then, so was Kelley and the character of "Bones". Truthfully, about the only one "Bones" doesn't out-age among the regular is Spock, but then, Spock is also half-Vulcan.

I've been monitoring the Trek casting, yeah--though now from what I'm hearing the movie's slipped from December to May 2009 because they want to do it as a summer release. Sniff. :( Karl Urban's going to have to work to make me not see Eomer while he's playing Bones, but I have hopes for the actress they've got playing Uhura--she's the one who played the pirate chick who clocked Jack Sparrow in the first PotC movie. The others, I'm not familiar with, and that's probably a good thing--it'll reduce my preconceptions about their abilities to play the roles going in.
And if you want some Jones icons, I can help you out with that. I made a few myself a while back. ;)
Re: *sigh* yep, i'll be there
Date: 2008-02-15 02:41 am (UTC)Heh, sorry, had a Twice Upon a Time moment there. Which, come to think of it, is also Lucas-connected!
Anyway, we'll see. I'm willing to be hopeful here, and Spielberg still has more cred with me than Lucas does these days.
