Date: 2007-11-28 04:52 am (UTC)It's a bit of a shame. So far I have no quibbles at all with Rowlings' characters or plots, and generally, I like her writing just fine. But those ellipses and all-caps screaming throughout the narrative and dialogue alike in certain tense scenes distract the hell out of me. I had the same issue with oh, say, Robert Ludlum's overuse of italics in the original three Jason Bourne books.
