More thanks must go out to amaltheae for the gifts that have continued to show up in the mail. The current count of them is four! There's a second Elvis movie as well as a book called Bad Magic, which I'd never heard of before and which was nowhere near my Wish List. Extra gratitude for surprising me with that selection. *^_^*

Also, I must express my thanks to risu and lyricae for bringing me a lot of colorful socks. Colorful socks are always a plus, and these get extra points for making solarbird bemusedly remark that she thought they looked like they'd been made out of skinned Muppet. ;)

My thanks to you all. You have given me spots of brightness as I deal with all the medical ick and I appreciate it immensely. You guys rock.

Socks, eh? Any particular sort you (don't) like?

The ideal socks in the World According to Anna are the ankle-cuff type. I don't care for anything longer than that, or shorter. Ideally, they should be good enough quality that I can wear them for quite some time without them developing holes or that annoying way of slipping down off my heel as I'm walking, forcing me to have to stop and take off my shoe so I can pull them back up. Also, I am partial to stripes and/or bright colors. The tie-dye socks I got at Whole Foods are a fabulous example of all of these qualities.

Though to be fair, if you're thinking of showing up with some socks at the Murk, I should also note that I do now have a plethora of socks and am not at all hurting for new ones. ^_^

Longer socks can be dangerous. Black and white striped knee socks when worn with ruby slippers significantly raise the risk a house will fall on you. :-)
