And now, a musical interlude

As it had been some time since I'd actually indulged, I decided I needed to pick up said instrument tonight. You could really tell it hadn't been played in a while--the D string I'd had to replace, the one that hadn't really quite settled into the proper tone yet, was down a whole step to the neighborhood of C. So I tuned the hell out of the strings, and settled in to play a selection of ditties off my Anna's Set playlist, which is made up primarily of Great Big Sea, Elvis, 30 Odd Foot of Grunts, and one Meg Davis ditty. Tonight it was all GBS, since those are the ones I know the best, and I just wanted to whip through things that were familiar.
Played in tonight's efforts: "When I'm Up", "Mari-Mac", "Old Black Rum", "Lukey", "Clearest Indication", "Jack Hinks", "Trois Navires de Ble", and "Ferryland Sealer" (which, to this day, the back of my brain still insists on calling "Faerieland Sealer").
I was pleased to discover that the strumming is still there, but I was dropping chords all over the place. Bah. Clearly I need to play more often, even if it's just my little lonesome and my gee-tar. And now my fingers hurt. But it's a good hurt. Ow. :)
