annathepiperIt is quite, quite cold in Kenmore, and there is a vast blanket of white surrounding our house. Everything is still and silent outside, except for a couple of lone little birds who showed up wistfully at our feeders, looking for sustenance.

spazzkat's mouth this morning were, "I'm staying HOME!" Upon learning that classes at Shoreline were cancelled, solarbird did a little dance in the kitchen this morning, singing, "No school for meeeeee! No school for meeeeee!" In theory, I had a dental appointment this morning. In actual practice, not so much. I called their office to see if anybody was actually there, and got called back a short time later by a sheepish-sounding receptionist who told me that indeed, they were not open for business and she was busily calling clients as fast as she could from her home number.
The Times has declared an Inclement Weather Day, which means essentially that we have sanction to stay home. I have informed my team that I will be doing just that, prepared to defend my fire in case any yetis show up.
