OKP forum thread quoting the official press release about the forthcoming new Great Big Sea DVD! Of especial note: four more videos, including the wonderful Fire in the Kitchen version of "Lukey" (featuring GBS and the Chieftains), and an audio companion CD with all the tracks from the concert on the disc!

Official release date is, as previously mentioned, November 21. Whether this will be a Canadian-only release or whether that'll be the date for those of us in the States as well remains to be seen! Waiting to see what the artwork's going to look like, too!

I'm very much looking forward to this. It'll be the two-set show from the last tour and all the delights thereof. I'm not sure whether I'm looking more forward to Séan and the Mermaid Dance, or the awesome juxtaposition of "Tishialuk Girls Set" and "Billy Peddle", which will forevermore be called "Tishibilly Peddle" in my brain.

Oh, now that's appropriate! I like that one :D Will never forget hearing "Billy Peddle" for the first time, and getting to hear it live on top of it! It'll be nice to have video of the live performance, as I didn't really pay a whole lot of attention the first time 'round.

Who, me? In awe of the awesomeness that is the Shantyman? lol ;) And Murray's bass fiddle was pretty cool, too!

It doesn't matter if it is Canada or US release date! We live right next to Canada and can get it at the Canada release date. Oooh . . . my buddy works at Future Shop. I wonder if they'll get it there and if I can use my powers of persuasion to get a discount if he gets one . . . hmmm . . .

Hey, Morgan here with Nathan news. Don't know if you're a fan of the show Lost or not, but I just read on Whedonesque that our dear Captain Tightpants will be a guest on Lost for at least two episodes this season. He supposedly starts filming next week in Hawaii and will play Kate's ex-husband, or so I gathered from the blurb. Thought you might be interested. Oh, and I showed the wife, Kikki, those awesome photos of Russel (and Alan) from the statue unveiling thingy. She said she read that Russel stuck around and shook hands, signed autographs, and took pictures with what seemed to be every man/woman/and child in the town. And I think the jumper he was wearing is the one for the team he purchased somewhat recently, but then you probably knew that already. Take it easy.
