My lack of posts over the last few days hasn't really been intentional--it's just that I'm trying harder to lay off the LJ while at work, and by the time I get home, my focus shifts to working on the books. But now that it's the weekend, hiya!

Anyway, the past week in brief. Tuesday I came in to work to discover we had a sudden turnover in contractors in QA land. The new guy, amazingly enough, worked on the RealArcade team just before I was there--so we know a lot of the same people and we wound up comparing notes on our experiences there. And we're getting into a groove of being able to work together, joining forces on larger projects (doing things like having him work on IE and Firefox while I take on Safari), and having me compile both our findings to send out. We may continue this, rather than one of us taking over a project and the other taking on some other project at the same time; I'll have to see how things continue in QA land over the next couple of months. We have a couple of big projects on the horizon, so it might get interesting.

Tuesday night, [livejournal.com profile] spazzkat and I stopped by to cast our vote in our state primaries. That made me feel all civic and responsible, but I still really need to pay better attention to local issues so I can be better informed on how to vote for--and not have to rely on asking all my local friends, "Okay, now who sucks and who doesn't?" Tangentially related, Paul and I noted with some bemusement that a lot of voting happens in churches, and asked ourselves why you never to go to vote in, say, Jack in the Box. Go cast your vote, get a milkshake! I'd be up for that. Mmm, milkshake.

Last night we went out to sushi with [livejournal.com profile] kathrynt and [livejournal.com profile] llachglin, partly because of the occasion being that Paul Wanted to Go Out to Sushi, and partly because of the last possible chance to hang out with Q and Erik before the arrival of their small one. The baby is officially no longer premature and is medically safe to arrive at any time; however, Kathryn has attempted to persuade her that another couple of weeks for them to get the house in order would be better. We'll have to see how well the Sprout agrees with this plan.

And today I have to take Polly to the vet for another checkup. Wait, did I say "vet"? I meant "happy place full of tuna". .oO (She's not reading this, is she?) If you find my cat-nibbled corpse along the side of Bothell Way, you'll know she expressed her displeasure about this prospect in no uncertain terms.

In college I once voted in a frat house.

It's the only time I was actually ever *in* a frat house, come to think of it... :-)
