Ordinary Day

Well for me, I'd seen Great Big Sea play about 10 times in Newfoundland before I left home in 2001, so it was a kick to see my first 'mainland' show. It was a smaller show than I'd been to before (contest winners & industry) in a bar called Richards on Richards in Vancouver, and the venue was fantastic. It was an amazing experience to see how the band was received elsewhere, and you could totally tell the Newfoundlanders in the crowd. ;)

The last time I saw them play in Nfld. was in 2000 at the New Year's millennium bash in St. John's, and I'm only going to be home for a week in July this summer, so I'll probably have to wait to see them on Newfoundland soil again. But yes, it is truly an experience. :)
