Captain Mal vs. slugs from outer space

The Endoc Report from yesterday: my T4 numbers are looking great, so yeah, 150mcg seems to be the magic number. I'll be on this dose for a while longer, it looks like. My endoc assured me that my usual routine thus far with taking my Synthroid first thing in the morning as I get up and then going downstairs for breakfast is fine--the important part, according to her, is to keep to a regular routine and not change things around, since that can mess with my levels. So. As I told her, mentally I've been fabulous for the last few months, so now the focus shifts to seeing if we can get my physical systems to catch up.
The good sign in all of this is that since I went onto the 150mcg dosage, that cycle I was in of slowly spiraling upward in weight through the last four months of 2005 seems to have ended. I'm still cycling through a tight range of poundage, but that range has stopped creeping upward and instead has stabilized over the last few months. Which means I have got to be more careful about resisting the siren call of Starbuck's and snacks in general--part and parcel of the whole "if I'm not hungry, don't effing EAT" rule. And I've got to drink more water. Hopefully between this and continuing to get in about twenty miles of walking in a week, I can start tipping my system back over into slow weight-loss mode. Fingers crossed.
In further Nathan Fillion news, the local paper's reviewers seem to like Slither. Quote: 'Good news, fright fans: "Slither" is the best horror comedy since "Shaun of the Dead" . but that won't comfort the folks of Wheelsy, S.C.' And
whedonesque reports that Rotten Tomatoes gives Slither a 90% fresh rating. Which seems positive! I'm waffling about whether I want to go see this. I really liked Shaun of the Dead, though I am not normally a horror buff. But between the chance to go ogle Nathan and the potential for decent amounts of Funny, I may go give this a look.
Having finished Thief of Lives (more on this in a forthcoming book review post), I am now reading Suspense and Sensibility. I saw this reviewed by an Amazon.com poster as "reasonably well-written fanfic"--which is about right. More on this, too, when I'm done.
And I'm going to announce when Jam #60 is going to be this weekend. So if you're interested in attending and you have not yet cast your vote on the Jam #60 poll, go do so!
Thursday evening miles: 2.1
Friday morning miles: 2.1
Miles out of Hobbiton: 843.8
Miles out of Rivendell: 385.8
Miles to Lothlórien: 78.2
