I've been feeling extra-special under-thyroid-y today, and I'm not sure whether it's because of the weather, because of lack of sleep, because of the particular time of the month it happens to be, or because of being less assiduous with my eating habits lately than I should be. Bleah. I need to do something about that last, especially. Willpower with the snackies has been hard to come by as of late.

And it wasn't helped tonight, either. [livejournal.com profile] solarbird and I went to a potluck being held by the local neighborhood group, and that was cool and all--there was a barbershop quartet of old gents who sang for us, there was good food, and I even got to meet the people who bought the house Dara and I had really wanted before. Turns out they're Fans. They both wrote and submitted Star Trek scripts at one point, and they attend Norwescon, too! But the big threat to my resolve at the potluck, anyway, was this extremely decadent chocolate cake. I mean, YUM. Dara and I split a piece and we were both eying it admiringly even after that. After having had some of that cake, though, I feel like I shouldn't have another snack for at least the rest of the week.

Meanwhile, [livejournal.com profile] spazzkat gets home tomorrow. Yay! We've missed him. So has the cat. And Thursday, I go to see my endoc, which means I leave work early. I'm not even really bummed about losing the hours, since it'll only be a couple hours shaved off my tally this week. When Norwescon rolls around, though, that'll be a bit pricier an hour drop, especially if I take both Thursday and Friday of that week.

Last night I learned a new trick: how to make a .procmailrc file send mail through Spamassassin and then forward it on to a completely different account. To translate this into non-geek-ese, one of the accounts on the Murk needed to be set to send mail offsite, but I wanted to make sure our local Spamassassin whittled out the spam before the forwarding happened. Now I know how to do this. Go me!

I'm almost done with Barb and J.C. Hendee's Thief of Lives; more on this when I complete the book. I'll be picking up the third book of this series, Sister of the Dead, some time soon.

Not too much else of consequence planned for the rest of the week. But those of you who are interested in the Murkworks jamming sessions, if you haven't already, don't forget to fill out the poll!
