What the rules actually say is that when there's a queen on the throne, one does not want to embarass oneself. Nor when dancing, nor performing in athletic competitions. Particularly the hammer throw, which involves a spinning motion.

(And there's always the little matter of us larger gentlemen not caring for the idea of, ummm, "chafe"... )
