Not too happy with the way the Amazon interview went. I flubbed a couple of the questions the engineer I spoke with asked me--not necessarily because I didn't know the answer, but more because I didn't think to offer a speculation as to the right answer (and say I was speculating), so he could get a handle on how I thought. And I don't think I answered one question in adequate depth. He told me that the recruiter should get back to me within a week, but my gut feeling on this is unfortunately a "no".

In the land of neutrality, I got an auto-reply from the folks at DMLA that acknowledged the receipt of my emailed query letter. Most likely result here is no reply at all, given that their policy is to answer email replies only if they're interested in reading your material and/or discussing representation. But we'll see what happens.

The other interview, for the other contract job I have as an active nibble, went somewhat better although it was shorter. The conversation definitely felt more solid, and I was able to provide answers I was confident in to all of the guy's questions as well as ask a few of my own. Though again... hard to say.

Now is the time of waiting to see if anybody calls me back with a request for a face-to-face, or better yet, an actual offer.

Also, now is the time of lunch!
