So aside from the whole job hunt thing, the last couple of days have been pretty quiet and laid-back. As of last night I just finished Chapter 15 of Lament, finally, and am finding myself at the mid-point of the book. More about this will be posted under my Writing filter.

Thursday night we got in the latest episode of Lost, which was not quite as intense as others we've seen recently, but which was enjoyable nevertheless.

Last night, [livejournal.com profile] solarbird, [livejournal.com profile] spazzkat, [livejournal.com profile] kathrynt, [livejournal.com profile] llachglin, [livejournal.com profile] tinlail, [livejournal.com profile] lyricae, and I all met to go to Red Robin for dinner in Woodinville and then to see the new Wallace & Gromit movie, Curse of the Were-Rabbit. Picoreview: fun, charming, and full of unrepentantly cheap but very funny gags. The short at the beginning starring the penguins from Madagascar was giggleworthy too.

Most of today has gone to work on the outline for the second half of the book, but Dara and I did take the time to walk down to LFP to pick up a few needed items. We took the long way back, and on both legs of the trip, Dara took a lot of leaf pictures. The lake was pretty to look at, and a huge flock of ducks was floating on its waves a good ways out, but oh the smell of autumnal lake funk.

I have also been deeply amused and charmed to learn that Great Big Sea (or at least, Alan, Séan, and Bob out of same) made a guest appearance on an episode of a children's cartoon in Canada. This got posted about on the Fishtank recently, including a link to an mpeg copy of the episode in question, so naturally I had to watch it. It was very silly and corny in a children's cartoon kind of way, and the best parts were hearing the B'ys' voices coming out of anthropomorphic dog versions of themselves and seeing all the random anthropomorphic dog girls swooning over senseless at the mere mention of the name of their band. (Me: "Oh look, it's members of the OKP! That doesn't look the SLIGHTEST BIT FAMILIAR, why does it?" ;) )

Tonight: more writing notes, possibly actual writing, and possibly pizza!
