For those of you who have read and enjoyed Urban Shaman (and for those of you who haven't read Urban Shaman, go buy it! Right now!), [livejournal.com profile] mizkit has just posted over on her blog some very exciting news: Luna's going to be picking up another series of hers, to be released in MASS MARKET PAPERBACK.

It is BEYOND cool to me to be thinking of my friend, my Willowholt tribesmate, my fellow former Two Moons staffer, with her name on mass market paperbacks which will hopefully sell even more copies than her trades!

Go look over here for the news straight from Kit! And be on the lookout for more of her coming out of Luna!

CONGRATULATIONS, KIT! :D :D :D

Ah, seeing you post reminded me that I wanted to give you some feedback on Urban Shaman. I read the book because Anna recommended it so highly, but it is something I would likely have read myself, as I liked the blurb on the back/in the ads in the Seattle Weekly.

To wit, I really enjoyed this book. I read it fairly quickly; it was one of those I didn't want to put down. I liked that the protagonist was someone I didn't warm to right away--that you saw her reveal herself as time went on. She wasn't UNlikeable at first, but she wasn't all "fluffy-bunny cute," and I liked and appreciated that. She was a real person to me, far more so than some female heroines I've read about. But she was also a person after my own heart--you just DO things, even if you don't know how, because you HAVE to. There's precious little dithering, and I enjoyed reading the adventure of someone I could really relate to.

At the end of the book, the immediate conflict was satisfied, but I wanted the next book RIGHT THEN. :)

And I was pleased to see mercifully few typos or other grammatical issues. I am a Laurell K. Hamilton reader, and it pains me to read the later novels, because I get distracted by the far-too-numerous errors. I'm impressed with Luna as well, and will be checking out their other offerings as well.

Looking forward to future Shaman adventures. THANK YOU!

*laughs out loud* Someone pointed out a spelling error on like the third page, the minute they were handed the book. I will never misspell fluorescent again... except I think it got misspelled repeatedly in "Banshee Cries". (I'm not sure that was my fault, though. Except for missing it in the copy edits.)

Glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for letting me know! *promo* "Banshee Cries" is out at the end of this month, in the anthology WINTER MOON. */promo* :)
