Things done today so far
Oct. 12th, 2005 02:04 pm1) Made the bed upon getting up. (I realize that this may not seem like an accomplishment to most of my listening audience, but it was certainly appreciated by the cat.)
2) Two miles on the treadmill. Go me!
3) Applied for unemployment. Bleah.
4) Slogged through various job search engine mails from Dice. Sent off two resumes, and almost immediately got a call about one of them, only to be shot down upon discovering that the call was about a contract position at Microsoft. Had to tell the guy I'm not available for a Microsoft position for 100 days as of today. Gah!
5) Also took a phone call from Random Recruiter Guy who found my resume on Dice and wanted to talk to me about a 9-month QA contract. Was very pleased until he said the words "in Olympia".
solarbird said I should have told him I'd have taken the job for $50 an hour so that I could pay for the gas required to commute down there and back every day.
And here, this is funny (but CHOCK FULLA SPOILERS, so don't go look at it if you haven't seen the movie yet): Serenity in 2000 words!
Wednesday morning miles: 2.1 (walking + treadmill)
Miles out of Hobbiton: 416.3
Miles to Rivendell: 41.7

*watches LJ server choke on it, and try to serve me the page about nine or ten times before finally throwing me a truncated version*
*posts all of this despite just having said it to Kathryn in IM, mostly for the amusement of others reading the thread, and to see if this alters the behavior any*
Wow. LJ's having a big time bad hair day.
Serenity crib notes
Date: 2005-10-13 02:25 am (UTC)That's it - River is the last Slayer, created by Men (Alliance military) like the first one was. So that makes Serenity the Scoobies' Mystery Machine, right?
