A good Saturday so far
Oct. 8th, 2005 01:16 pmI was reading my current favorite Russell Crowe fan news site (which, for the Crowe fans on my Friends list, remains the redoubtable Murph's Place), and came across this amusing little quip of Russell's out of a recent interview:
"I am obviously a complicated, messy, psychologically damaged weirdo and that is the fundamental requirement for my job."
Hee! Not that I should be surprised to read these words coming out of him; he is, after all, the man who quipped on his bio page on Gruntland that his hobby was "raising psychologically disturbed cattle". But it is nice to be reminded that he has a sense of self-awareness. ;)
Anyway. I should have written last night, but in my euphoria over the shiny new GBS tour dates, I blew the entire night making my "my fandom plays bouzouki" icon instead. Because it was pretty much required. Kudos to
seimaisin for the original pic, again, as well as for permission to modify it for an icon! I've blown a bit of my morning tweaking the final version of it, too, and finally now have it to the way I think I want it. (I think this whole icon bug has definitely bitten me, though. I'm already thinking about what to do with a Russell icon, and I still need to play with the Arwen-reading-a-book base I scarfed from
underdark_icons, too. But I also damn well need to WRITE SOMETHING this weekend.)
Today
mamishka is due to come over and get caught up on Lost with me, but before that happens,
solarbird and I are going to take a walk down to the Lake Forest Park Town Center for jam and bread and for just getting in the walk. I've actually already treadmilled, due to being anxious to get in morning exercise to offset the annoying weight gain I've been having the last few weeks, so my Rivendell tally will be unusually high today! And tomorrow, weather permitting, perhaps we will bike. I'm even thinking of biking into work on the last two days of my contract, but not the huge intimidating route that
llachglin takes--I'm more thinking about just biking down to the Montlake bus stop, picking up the 545 from there, and then bussing the rest of the way to Borg. That's totally doable.
But we'll see if I pull it off.
Friday evening miles: 2.45
Saturday miles: 4.65 (pre-emptively recording! treadmill + walking)
Miles out of Hobbiton: 378.7
Miles to Rivendell: 79.3
