It's been a somewhat odd and oogy day. Physically, that is. Nothing serious; let's just say it's one of those awkward feminine times of the month and leave it at that. But it did kind of cast a pall over my productivity for today.

I paid bills this morning, had a very pleasant chat with [livejournal.com profile] boudiccathered (with whom I had not chatted in some time) and another one with [livejournal.com profile] solion (also with whom I had not chatted in some time), and then for the first time in ages actually picked up my guitar. The back of my brain's been nagging at me about that, now that I'm back to a more normal state of health. But boy howdy, after I whipped through the Road Rage version of "Mari-Mac" and kept up with pretty decent speed along with the recording, my wrists let me know in no uncertain terms that it's been a while since I've done that. I was glad I did it, though.

After that I petered out fast, and wound up blowing a good chunk of the rest of the afternoon to napping. [livejournal.com profile] wildshadowstar called briefly, and I chatted with her and our other sister Sarah (who has no LJ), and learned that Sarah's little boy was celebrating his first birthday today. That had to have been fun. Sarah relayed that Caleb did eventually clue in that he was supposed to dig into the birthday cake, and that his daddy Daniel was having almost more fun with trying to play with all his shiny new toys than he was. Heh.

Weather-wise it's been odd and kind of oogy as well, gray and gloomy outside. We actually had thunder and lightning this afternoon and evening, which is quite rare for the Pacific Northwest, and it's possible that the weather had an impact on me, too. I haven't been able to write yet this evening due to a general lack of focus, so instead I've been poking at my web page in a somewhat desultory fashion, hoping to get at least something productive done tonight.

And I have. I've begun work cleaning out a lot of the now-archaic content on my site. Some of it is stuff I no longer have the time or the interest to maintain (e.g., my Strongbow fangirl page). Some of it is stuff that just won't get updated anymore because there's nothing new to add--such as the Three Good Measures page. Though in that case, I'm actually keeping the TGM MP3s up, and I'm moving the Jam Reports over to archived entries right here on LJ. I figure why not? The Jam Reports really were a blog before I knew what blogging was. I'm adding a "tgm" tag as another way to get to those entries, too, for anyone who wants to see them. So far, I've moved over Jam Reports 1-5. Which actually means four Jam Reports, since I lost #2 a long time ago.

I will have to take a picture of my mandolin to be an icon, just for the Jam Reports, and also to be a music-geeking icon in general.

As I've mentioned to you before, the Jam Reports are what started me blogging... first at DiaryX.com and then at my current blog (http://www.howlinhobbit.com/blog/).

I did (and still do) enjoy your writing style and the joy that came through it to me.

Still rooting for you with Luna (or whoever finally wises up enough to publish your book).

Looks like my jug band will be playing up in your neck of the woods this coming Saturday. I'll have the details up on my site by later this evening (wait 'til tomorrow to check... I'm such a late-niter). If y'all can come on down, I'd love to meet you (and your sweetie too, please!).

ciao for now...
