For a series premier it wasn't bad. There are smart women all over the place in this thing and the female lead is very reminiscent of Jodie Foster (probably no accident there). It does feel like The X-Files: Part 2 only without the extraterrestrial bent, but that's not necessarily a bad. There was even a line between the two leads early in the episode as they agreed to work together on a case, "Spit on it [her hand and then shake, for context] and we're Scully and Mulder." So they're quite aware of the comparison. :) The lab was high-tech eye candy that I only hope they don't come to overuse. I can also see coming that the long-term dynamic of the show is going to revolve around growing unresolved sexual tension between the leads, but I suppose it matters most how that's executed. If they don't handle it cleverly, this will get boring fast. So we'll see. This first episode didn't suck though.
