Russell, dearest, darling light of my eyes, this was really not necessary.

Calm down. Seriously.

Yes, I'm pretty sure the phone company ads encouraging you to "reach out and touch someone" with the phone didn't exactly have this in mind.

Maybe he should consider Scientology.

Oh wait, never mind.

he's going to have fun explaining that one to his wife and his mom. and i would imagine his newest buddy isn't going to be any too impressed either.

That and I think giving up all your money must be soothing, if you look at Revolta.

ah, but while all of you are musing on the question, "WT*F* were you thinking??!?!??" none of you are likely to ask that one to his face. those other three folks (and particularly the first two) i listed probably will.

On another note, my friend disc_sophist has told me that the icon she uses in this post is up for adoption, so long as it's credited :)

It says in the Journal from Wall Street
Rhode Island is tiny and odd.
Compared to the rest of the union,
It's a smudge on the road to Cape Cod!

CHORUS

We've got cabinets, grindas and clam cakes,
With chowda the soup of the day
With Newport's spectacular sunsets,
And a rising red tide on the bay

CHORUS

They say that we ain't got no cultcha,
Just get in your auto and drive
There's the School of Design Art Museum,
And an insect on Route 95.

CHORUS

They say that we're slow and lethargic,
But it takes reflexes and nerve
To handle the 5 PM traffic
Around Thurber's Avenue Curve!

CHORUS

New York, it has got the Big Apple,
And Florida has oranges sun-kiss't,
But only Rhode Islanders grapple
With quahogs the size of your first!

(With apologies to Katzberg and Snyder, and pleas to get their albums back in print)

A lot of the others are as well. Check out the one at top left, and the one at... let's see... eleventh down on the left.

hey anna, sorry to leave you a random message here, but I'm a friend of [livejournal.com profile] scrunchions and [livejournal.com profile] framlingem so we're in the same company. Anyway, I really like your icon there and I was wondering how you made it. Did you use some sort of portrait maker program? Thanks.

Yep, that's the tune. It's a 20-year-old-or-so song by Katzberg and Snyder, a group that no longer performs together and hasn't sold tapes in forever. I have two of the tapes buried somewhere, but darned if I know where. I need to find them and then find someone who can burn them to CD for me before a tape player gets hungry....

I wanted to show you "Some guy from Rhode Island ordered a grinder and a cabinet", but it doesn't seem to be online. Oh, well...

I heard about that at dinner tonight. The word "rage" was invoked at least once, too.
