Well, this was gambling on her life and livelihood, to be fair... but yeah, just as serious if not more so than gambling on her affections. I see enough skill and character nuance in this writer that it may well be that she explores the consequences of this stuff in the second and third books... but I'm not interested enough in reading to find out. I've got plenty of other things to read that I'll enjoy way more.
