One word: DUDE!

WOW, this one kicked in in high gear and stayed there!

I really liked that they hit the bit with jiggering Jack's wrist device and then zoomed right on--we didn't need to see much with that, after all. We knew that the Doctor was going to fix the thing, after all. So we didn't need to spend more than a glancing peek on that.

I simultaneously feel really sorry for Martha that she gets constant reminders of how the Doctor is completely oblivious to how she fancies him, and glad that she now gets to be caught up on more of his backstory--so that she can get a better-rounded idea of who exactly he is. It will be interesting to see if she maintains her Doctorcrush now that she knows more.

And HAR, I love that little throwaway line of Jack's: "You too, huh?" And I'm rather aww'ing at that remark of his to the Doctor about changing Torchwood in his honor.

Very nice little trick with the TARDIS keys. I love the Doctor making with his MacGyvery gadget-tweaking. <3

The shots of Gallifrey--wow. Extra special gorgeous, and I am expecting those will be showing up on desktops very soon now. *goes to check Doctor Who site* Aww, not there yet, but hey!

ZOMG [livejournal.com profile] spazzkat just realized--BWAHAHAHAHA, the rhythm everyone was tapping out? That's the rhythm line that leads into the main melody of the Doctor Who theme. He caught it just now, tapping it out. Gods, I love that. I love that so. :D And how about that little number when the rift in the sky appeared and all the balls whizzed out? I expect that number will be showing up on iTunes by now, if not on the next Doctor soundtrack.

BWAHAHAHAHAHA about the Valiant! We all yelled happily, "Jack really IS Captain Scarlet!" Because hot damn, that looked so very much like Cloudbase, it was hysterical. I really hope they'll drop a joke about this somewhere. It'd be hysterical if Jack says "spectrum is green" or something close enough for Scarlet fans to get the joke. ;)

[livejournal.com profile] solarbird has now raised a theory about who exactly the entities in the flying balls are. She thinks they're the human survivors from the end of Time, and that they're the result of the whole "Utopia" thing--which would tie very neatly into the beginning of the plot. I really hope that's what they're going to do. This would also fit in with the TARDIS having been cannibalized into a paradox machine--because they would in this scenario need to preserve their own future even while they're escaping into the past.

Last but not least, oh my yes, I'm there with the love for the new Master. He's happy fun evil! ;) That thumbs-up when the older Cabinet member bellowed "You're insane"--beautiful. I really loved all the little exchanges between him and the Doctor--and am glad that we now have a bit of an explanation as to what the hell happened with the Master in between his last appearance now. We know that he deliberately ran away from the Time War and turned himself human. Very, very nice.

And AIGH! Ten made old! Sniff! Though, having just this afternoon watched some First Doctor, I'm a tad bit disappointed that Old Ten doesn't look more like William Hartnell. We'll have to see if Old Ten makes any little "Hmm? HRMM?" noises like Hartnell did. ;)

This show is about time travel, why can't we have the next episode NOW?! Gimme!
