I get asked about this every so often, so here’s a reminder of what books I have, and how to buy them!

Faerie Blood and Bone Walker are both available in print and in ebook form. You can order the print copies via my Square store, via the Bandcamp merch pages set up for them, or via the various ways you can pay me directly. Note also that these are my only two books currently available in print. If you want something from me in print form, these are the titles to get.

Faerie Blood and Bone Walker are both also available wherever I sell ebooks, which currently includes Amazon, Kobo, iBooks, Nook, Google Play, and Smashwords. All places you can buy the ebooks are linked to on the books’ official pages, although you can also just buy them directly from me, like you can the print copies. Best way to do that is via my Square store.

The print editions of these books are $15 each if I’m selling them to you directly, $17 if I need to mail. I also ask for cost of shipping. The ebooks are $2.99 each. See my Buying From Me page for what to do if you’d like to buy things from me directly. Otherwise, look at the Faerie Blood and Bone Walker official pages for where all you can buy the books.

Valor of the Healer, Vengeance of the Hunter, and Victory of the Hawk are all available digitally wherever ebooks are sold. Worldwide, your best best for where to buy them is straight off of the official Carina Press site. I get slightly more of a royalty for purchases directly from Carina. However, you can also find the titles on Amazon, Kobo, iBooks, Nook, and Google Play.

The Rebels books are not available in print. If you’d like them to be so, the best way to make that happen is to buy the ebooks and demonstrate to Carina that the sales numbers warrant it. If you have the Rebels books already, consider buying them for friends!

The ebooks of the Rebels trilogy are all $2.99 apiece, although prices may periodically vary if one or more of the ebook selling sites decides to do a special. (But they don’t warn me about that in advance!)

ALSO: Valor of the Healer is the only title of the Rebels books that also has an audiobook. You can find the links to where to buy the audiobook on Valor’s official page. If you’re an audiobook fan and you’d like to see Vengeance and Victory get audio versions, again, buy the first one and show Carina there’s a demand for it!

Any questions? Let me know!

I’m getting a book order ready to mail out tonight, and so I have needed to take the time to make sure my Square storefront is up to date. I have updated the prices of my Faerie Blood and Bone Walker ebooks back to $2.99 there. Also, for anyone who might be interested in purchasing books directly from me, I currently have the following in my personal stock:

24 print copies of Faerie Blood
19 print copies of Bone Walker
10 remaining Faerie Blood ebook bundle CDs, which include ebook editions of both the first and second editions of the book

A few folks have actually bought things off my Square store lately, so many thanks to those who have done so!

The Square storefront is here, and I note as well that it includes a bundle deal for both of the print books for $25 total. In other words, if you buy them together, I will cut you a discount. (Shipping costs still apply, though!)

You can buy the ebooks directly from me on the Square storefront as well–at least, my ebooks that are indie-published. The Carina Press ones are, of course, sold by Carina Press.

Also note: the Square storefront is most useful for ordering the print copies if you’re within the US. If you’re outside the US and you want either of the print books, you should use the Bandcamp links since Bandcamp can differentiate the shipping costs. See the Faerie Blood and Bone Walker pages for more details on that!

Anybody should, however, be able to use the Square store to order the ebooks from me. :)

Any questions, let me know!

Since I’ve gotten quite a bit of surprising action this weekend on the Faerie Blood and Bone Walker sale, here’s an official post about that. And a big shoutout and thanks to userinfoandpuff, Tanya Huff, for signal boosting me! If you’re visiting my site because of her RT’ing me on Twitter, hi there and thank you for coming by!

So here’s what you need to know: both of my two indie-published novels, Faerie Blood and Bone Walker, Books 1 and 2 of the Free Court of Seattle urban fantasy series, are currently on sale in ebook form for 99 cents each. This sale was launched in honor of Orycon, which I just attended, and is also in honor of general Black Friday/Small Business Saturday/Cyber Monday/Please Everybody Buy Our Stuff Weekend. 😉

Both of these books are on sale on major ebook vending sites: Amazon, Nook, iTunes, Kobo, Google Play, and Smashwords. Note that on Smashwords in particular, the price is actually also “Reader Sets Price”, so while the suggested price there is currently 99 cents, you can actually set it to anything you like. (And a big shoutout and thanks to the reader who gave me five dollars for Faerie Blood, too!)

All the major links can be found on the Faerie Blood and Bone Walker pages. Look for the “Buy the Book” button in the top sections of each page.

You can also buy the ebooks directly from me at my Square storefront, where the 99 cent price is in effect as well.

Thanks to all who’ve spread the word, and if you’re a new reader picking up my stuff for the first time, thanks for your purchase and I hope you enjoy my stories!

Dara and I are heading to Orycon in another couple of weeks! And as I’ve done at Norwescon and Worldcon this year, I’ll be contributing books to sell at the NIWA table.

WHICH MEANS: it’s time for another convention deal!

The ebooks of both Faerie Blood and Bone Walker are back on sale for 99 cents each. ALSO: since I’ll be doing this deal at the convention, I’ll extend it to online purchasers as well. Since the print copies of these two books normally sell for $15 each, if you buy them both together, you can have ’em for $25!

These prices are in effect until December 1st. Mostly this sale is in honor of Orycon, but also because Thanksgiving is coming up, so I thought hey, I’ll keep the sale going till Cyber Monday!

For the ebooks, the 99 price point is in effect now on all major platforms where I sell ebooks. Click over to the Faerie Blood or Bone Walker pages and hit the “Buy The Book” buttons to see the major places in question.

If you want the print editions, head over to my Square marketplace and click down to the ‘Paperbacks’ section. The bundle is the third option in that part of the page.

As always, shoot me questions if you have ’em! And spread the word!

Those of you who read on the Kobo, be advised that if you don’t already have Faerie Blood, you should be able to pick it up for 50 percent off over the next couple of days! The Writing Life folks are running a promotion described in full here.

Pertinent discount codes to use at checkout are as follows:

Canada
October 28th – October 31st
Promo Code: CA50SALE

United States/Australia/New Zealand
October 27th – October 30th
Promo Code: GET50SALE

United Kingdom
October 30th – November 2nd
Promo Code: UK50SALE

Spread the word around to anybody you know who reads via Kobo, won’t you? Thank you!

(Note also: this will only apply to Faerie Blood, since my other two indie titles, Bone Walker and The Blood of the Land, are currently deployed to Kobo via Smashwords and are not active in the Writing Life system.)

Gracious, I’m getting a lot of hits from Italy this month in response to the Facebook ads I’m running about the Rebels of Adalonia books!

So if you’re one of those visitors, hello! Buongiorno! Ciao! Thank you for coming by, and I hope you’ll consider buying my books. Some links that’ll be helpful for Italian readers in particular are in this post. Amazon and Kobo’s links go directly to their IT stores. Google Play I think should do location detection. The Rebels of Adalonia books aren’t on the Italian iBooks store, but Faerie Blood and Bone Walker are, so I’ve included those links too.

And you can buy the Rebels books directly from my publisher, Carina Press.

For Valor of the Healer: Amazon | Kobo | Google Play | Carina Press

For Vengeance of the Hunter: Amazon | Kobo | Google Play | Carina Press

For Victory of the Hawk: Amazon | Kobo | Google Play | Carina Press

For Faerie Blood: Amazon | Kobo | Google Play | iBooks

For Bone Walker: Amazon | Kobo | Google Play | iBooks

I hope some of you will find these links helpful. And in general, thank you for coming by to check out my books!

Thanks to having gotten a Kickstarter update from the nice folks at Crossed Genres (who are taking preorders for their new title Hidden Youth right over here and you should go and check that out), I now know that Square has the ability to set up storefronts for people who sell via them.

And with that in mind: BEHOLD! I now have a Square storefront!

Available for sale on this are the Faerie Blood and Bone Walker ebooks, the print editions, and the remaining copies I have of the Faerie Blood ebook bundle CD (which includes both editions of Faerie Blood, as well as the short story “The Blood of the Land”).

This will NOT be supplanting the Bandcamp pages that Dara set up for the two paperback books–those will remain the best way to order the paperbacks from me if you’re not in the US, since Square doesn’t handle international shipping. But if you’re in the US, this will now be an option for you if you’d like to buy my books.

Please spread the word!

So a bunch of us in NIWA thought, hey, wouldn’t it be awesome if we banded together and put several of our books on sale for 99 cents? We are doing exactly that.

Me, I’ve put Faerie Blood on sale for 99 cents for the entire month of June in honor of this, and also because I CAN. This price will be valid until the end of the month. As always, all of the official links to buy this book are on the Faerie Blood page!

HOWEVER: several other NIWA-author titles will ALSO be on sale for 99 cents, for a narrower window of time, from the 12th until the 15th! We have a Facebook event describing this and which titles are participating! (If you’re not on Facebook, worry not–this is a publicly readable event so you should still be able to see the book list even if you’re not a Facebook user.) So keep an eye on that link, because more titles are getting added to it over the next several days. Be poised with your wallets to snap up all these nifty deals on the 12th, won’t you?

And in the meantime, Dara’s also jumped in on this tasty sale action. She’s set up a discount download code of “niwa” for anybody who’d like to snag a digital download of the Bone Walker soundtrack for 40 percent off! And as always, the soundtrack can be scarfed directly from Bandcamp.

ALSO! Although this is not actually part of the sale, don’t forget, the short story “The Blood of the Land” is also available for pennies. If you go to Smashwords, you can grab it for any price YOU choose, including free. Everywhere else, it’s 99 cents, and that will be the story’s permanent official price.

Spread the word, everybody!

FYI to all:

Since I am moving over to using Smashwords to deploy Faerie Blood and Bone Walker out to B&N, Kobo, and iBooks, this means the purchase links for the books at these locations are changing.

I have new viable links for both books at B&N and iBooks, and both of their pages have been updated accordingly. Kobo has a new working link for Bone Walker, but Faerie Blood‘s new link hasn’t shown up yet in their system; once it does, I’ll update the FB page with that, too.

All new links I have are now in place on the Faerie Blood and Bone Walker pages, and they’re added to my full Books page as well. But the most immediately useful ones are:

Faerie Blood:

Nook | iBooks

Bone Walker:

Nook | iBooks | Kobo

ALSO of paramount interest: since Smashwords does deploy out to Overdrive, OH HEY LOOK! Bone Walker is now actually on Overdrive, which means in theory it COULD actually show up in libraries! I’m not seeing it at the two Seattle library systems, but if Overdrive has it, that means libraries can get it. So if you’re a library fan, talk to your library and ask them if they might want to consider adding the book to their digital systems.

AND! This also means that I can take advantage of Overdrive’s pretty capabilities for reading ebook samples, like I did with Valor of the Healer and Vengeance of the Hunter. I have accordingly added a link to read an excerpt of Bone Walker at Overdrive to the book’s page!

And now, for some amusing numbers!

I released the current, second edition of Faerie Blood into the wild in June of 2012. Up through May of 2014, I had a total of 335 sales over all for the book. My previous best sales month had been July 2012, pretty much right after I released the book, and January 2013, when I ran a $2.99 sale that got some signalboosting from fellow Carina authors.

Kicking the price down to 99 cents, though, has meant that in June and July of this year so far, I have had a total of 167 sales. A few of those were in early June, before I launched the sale. So it’s more like 160 sales as a direct result of the current low price.

June 2014 is my new record sales month, on the strength of the initial spike once I kicked the price on Faerie Blood down. June scored 97 sales. We’re now eight days into July, and July is well and thoroughly in second place but coming up steadily, with the current tally at 70 sales. At my current rough rate of sales (I’m seeing 2-4 a day coming in right now, mostly from Amazon), it’s reasonable to expect July may pass June.

Overall this means that roughly 33 percent of my current sales numbers are from this sale alone. NEAT.

And if I can get another 160 sales or so before the end of the month, I will DOUBLE the lifetime sales total for the book. If you want to help me make that happen, remember, signalboost! Signalboost! Signalboost!

Amazon sales are certainly welcome but I encourage signalboosting in particular to everywhere else I’m selling the book as well. B&N has clocked in so far with a total of 19 sales, iBooks has 3, Kobo has 5, and Google Play has 8. Smashwords so far is the only place where I’m selling Faerie Blood that hasn’t yet joined this party.

(I would be PARTICULARLY happy if more Kobo sales showed up. Because one, I love that Kobo has partnered up with indie booksellers. Two, they are a Force in Canada and I do love me some Canada. And three, they recently implemented a shopping cart on their site. The lack of a shopping cart on major ebook-selling sites has driven me spare for ages, and now that Kobo finally went and built one, I would love to see people filling it up. Ideally, with my stuff! But with other stuff as well. Reward them for their coding efforts!)

MEANWHILE: I’ve seen only a few confirmed sales of Valor of the Healer showing up as a result of the sale–but as I’ve previously mentioned, those numbers are much harder for me to track. The first wave of any really interesting numbers should be showing up for me by the end of this week! Still, though, the Valor sale needs your love as much as the Faerie Blood one! MORE, even, because it’s not lasting as long! Only 9 days left before Valor returns to its previous price!

I’m past the initial spike of sales for setting Faerie Blood to 99 cents now, I think. But although the huge rush has levelled down, I’m pleased to report that I am continuing to accrue more sales so far this month than I have ever before. I’m very close to breaking 500 sales on that book. If I get lucky, it might even happen TODAY.

And if you, yes you, want to help me make that happen, please remember, spread the word! I’ve reached about everybody I can who usually follows me, and it helps immensely to get the word out to people who aren’t directly in my social network circles. If you’d like to help signalboost, here are the immediate short links you can use:

Valor of the Healer link: http://bit.ly/1reiFHF

Faerie Blood link: http://bit.ly/1lxLhDN

You can plug those bit.ly links into tweets, or posts on Facebook or G+ or wherever. I’ve been making up assorted tweets about both books, using hashtags #urbanfantasy and #fantasy, and emphasizing that Faerie Blood is on sale all month and Valor until the 19th. Mentioning the 99 cent price point is important, too. If you’re on Twitter you can see assorted examples on my Twitter feed here.

If you’re on Tumblr, I have two posts up there that you can reblog if you’re so inclined. Those posts are:

For Faerie Blood: http://annathepiper.tumblr.com/post/90522353994/kendis-thompson-of-seattle-thinks-shes-as-normal

For Valor of the Healer: http://annathepiper.tumblr.com/post/90522657939/the-rook-an-assassin-hired-by-vengeful-elven

Last important reminder: I do have a lot of print copies of Faerie Blood available. And if anybody wants one, I am waiving mailing charges for the duration of the sale. I will also throw a bonus CD in with the print copies, a CD that contains a bundle of assorted formats of both editions of Faerie Blood–the original Drollerie Press version, and the updated Kickstarter release version too. Plus, the CD also includes the short story “The Blood of the Land”.

The print books + CD will be $15 for the duration of the month. After July 31st I will go back to also asking shipping charges, so at that point the price will be $20 for US or Canadian readers, $25 for overseas (because sorry overseas folks, mailing a copy of Faerie Blood across the water costs me more than the book itself :( ).

Special addendum for anybody in Canada: You guys have until Saturday August 2nd if you’d like to buy a print copy of Faerie Blood from me, on account of chances are VERY high that I’m coming up to Canada that weekend, and mailing stuff to you from within B.C. is likely to be way cheaper than me doing it from Seattle. ;)

Thanks again to all for your ongoing support!

Well, yesterday’s numbers weren’t as awesome as Monday’s–but that said, yesterday was still my third best sale day ever for Faerie Blood, so I’d say that was still a triumph!

Many, many thanks to those of you who’ve bought either Faerie Blood OR Valor of the Healer thus far, or signalboosted. Please, please do keep signalboosting, it helps immensely!

(Note in particular as well that on the Valor of the Healer post, I’ve updated that to include links off to the official CarinaPress.com pages for the other Carina titles participating in the promotion. I encourage anyone who’s interested in seeing Carina’s other SF/F offerings to check those out!)

If you’re on Twitter, here are a couple of shortened URLs you can use to plug into tweets, which go to the two posts I made with full info on the sales (and of course you can use these URLs on Facebook or Google+ or wherever, but the shortened URLs are ideal for Twitter):

annathepiper: (Emperor Fabulous)

It’s the morning of July 1st, and I’m delighted to report that I’m now sitting at 97 total sales of Faerie Blood for the month of June 2014. iBooks and Google Play were both lagging behind on updating their numbers, and some of the transactions at Amazon and Kobo didn’t finish processing until this morning–so they’re going to count as July numbers. This is my current final tally for June, though:

  • Amazon: 74 (US, UK, DE, and CA, mostly US sales)
  • Barnes and Noble: 11 (all US)
  • Kobo: 2
  • iBooks: 1
  • Google Play: 8 (one pre-sale, the rest after the sale started; mix of US and CA)
  • Smashwords: 1 (pre-sale)

And before the sale actually started, these were the numbers I had for June beforehand:

  • Smashwords: 1
  • Google Play: 1

And as of this writing, I’ve already got 11 sales for July transactions–most of which were rolled over from yesterday as they hadn’t been fully processed yet. But so far this morning’s starting off well!

And as you can see, the sale is so far making a world of difference. Faerie Blood is blazing up the Amazon rankings, climbing out of the six-digit pit it’d been languishing in, and currently (as of this writing) parked at… well. Let’s let a screencap do the talking, shall we? This was taken as of last night around midnight:

This Fails to Suck

This Fails to Suck

It’s already been proposed to me that I might want to keep the 99 cent price point. It’s way too early for me to make that call–but it’s going to be real interesting to see how the numbers behave as we head into July. I’ve now, in the last 24 hours, completely blown away my previous monthly and one-day sales counts for this book. If this trend continues, July’s numbers might get truly crazytalk.

MEANWHILE! I do not unfortunately have access to direct sales numbers for Valor of the Healer, so I can’t track that book nearly as well as I can Faerie Blood. I do, however, use NovelRank.com to get an approximation of how my books are behaving on Amazon, and as of last night around midnight, this is what NovelRank showed me about Valor.

This Likewise Also Fails to Suck

This Likewise Also Fails to Suck

I’ve been seeing the book’s ranking over on B&N go up, too. No budging yet on Kobo, as near as I can tell. And I won’t see any real numbers until later this week, when the portal Harlequin provides its authors gets updated with the weekly numbers. More bulletins on this as events warrant.

ALSO: I’ve been seeing quite a few folks tweet for me, or signal-boost on Facebook or Google+. Many, MANY thanks to you all. And if you’re a new person coming in to check me out because of seeing either of my books on sale, greetings to you! Grab a chair and raise a jar, and I hope you enjoy my work!

One new reader who found me on Twitter certainly did, anyway. Speaking of things that don’t suck, I know I’ve managed to please a reader when she forgets to feed her dog!

Hang on, you guys. July promises to be a bumpy ride!

Speaking of things that don’t suck, I know I’ve managed to please a reader when she forgets to feed her dog!

annathepiper: (Alan YES!)

As of right now I am putting Faerie Blood on sale for the low, low price of $0.99 USD! (And appropriate equivalents in other countries!)

It’ll take a bit for the pricing to propagate out to all the places the book’s being sold, but I’m going ahead and doing it now so that hopefully it’ll be at that price by July 1st. I’ll be running this promotion through July 31st. Most of you who know me probably have already bought the book, but if you haven’t, this’ll be a great time to snap it up. Or, for you to spread the word to friends and loved ones, if you want to help!

As of this writing the sale price is confirmed live at these US links:

Amazon | Barnes and Noble | Smashwords | Google Play | Kobo | iBooks

These are all the primary links for where you can buy the ebook version. If you’re not in the US, I’m pretty sure that the Kobo and Google Play links SHOULD redirect you to your actual locale. (If you’re on Google Play and the link doesn’t work for you, please let me know and I’ll activate a local price for you.)

All of the rest of the links for where to buy the book can be found on the Faerie Blood page!

AND–if you want to buy the book directly from me, particularly if you want the fancy PDF we made that’s laid out like the print version but also includes an extra high-res black-and-white pencil of the cover art, I will apply the .99c price to that as well. Best ways to buy from me are the same as for the print version, as I describe further down in this post.

Meanwhile, this sale will ALSO apply to my stock of print copies of the book. I have a good backlog of copies, and for the duration of this sale, I will waive ALL SHIPPING CHARGES, no matter where I might need to mail it. So if you’d like to snag a print copy of the book, talk to me about how to send me money for it, and where to send you a book! I continue to ask $15 USD for the print copies, or the appropriate equivalents for international readers. (Exception: Canadians, I’ll take straight up $15 CAD from you all, too. Because I like you, Canada. <3)

If you want to buy a print copy, the best way to get money to me is via Paypal to my gmail address, annathepiper. Alternately, I will also accept equivalent credit at Amazon US, Amazon CA, Barnes and Noble, iTunes US, iTunes CA, or Google Play. And I’m open to other places where I can buy ebooks or digital music if you want to negotiate.

SO EXCITING! Let’s see if this does anything amusing to my sales numbers. Please feel free to spread the word of this to all corners of the Net! :D And if you’re on Twitter, here, have some tweets you can steal to spread the word if you want!
