As promised, ladies and gentlemen, I give unto you the winners of the Faerie Blood giveaway! If you see your name on this list, please contact me ASAP to claim your prize! If you win an ebook copy, I will need a valid email address to send you a link to download the ebook! If you win a print copy, I will need you to send me your snailmail address so that I can mail you your book before I leave for my Canada vacation!

Print copy winners–if I don’t hear from you by 8pm Pacific time TOMORROW NIGHT (that’s Friday, July 20th), I will have to draw a new winner! I want to send out the winner copies by mail before I leave for Canada, and my only chance to do that will be on Saturday! So do please claim your prize promptly!

Now without further ado, courtesy of your friend and mine the Random Number Generator, here we go!

Ebook #1 goes to David Stayduhar! (Who I primarily communicate with on Facebook, so David, please ping me there!)

Ebook #2 goes to Misty, who I primarily communicate with either on the MurkMUSH or on Google+! Misty, you know what to do!

Print copy #1 goes to Catherine Lundoff who I communicate with in several places, so Catherine, take your pick!

Print copy #2 goes to userinfome_fein on Livejournal!

Congratulations, winners, I hope you’ll enjoy my book! And many thanks to all who spread the word of the contest!

I got asked to deploy Faerie Blood to the Norwegian iTunes store today, so I have gone ahead and done that! And because I could, I also deployed to the Germany, France, Spain, Italy, and Ireland iTunes stores. I will keep adding new iTunes stores by request if people want ‘em, so if I don’t have your country covered yet, by all means, folks, talk to me! I have updated the Faerie Blood page with the new direct iTunes links.

Meanwhile, a new confirmed Paypal sale means I have 14 copies left for general sale out of the first print run. I have a total of ten open requests for copies, for which I have not yet received actual payment–but I will continue to give priority to paying customers. So if you want a copy, please do pay me sooner rather than later, to guarantee you’ll get one out of this first batch! If you don’t make this batch and you still want one anyway, also let me know about that so that I can start getting an estimate of how many I’ll need for a second print run.

And don’t forget, you guys–I also have two print copies (as well as two ebook copies) up for grabs in the still-open Faerie Blood giveaway! I have a nice little number of entries in that now, but do please keep spreading the word, and do keep those entries coming! The entry pool’s still pretty small, though, so if you jump in, your chances ARE good right now!

Any questions, give me a shout!

Happy July 4th, (American portion of the) Internets! Because it’s the Day of Things Exploding, and it’s generally a good day for bright shiny things, and because that the second edition of Faerie Blood has been released out into the world, I feel now is an excellent time to run me a contest for the book! I’m going to give away two print copies AND two ebook copies. Yes folks, that’s a total of FOUR. Because this book is mine mine mine, and because I CAN. But y’all are going to have to work for ‘em!

Here are the rules!

I will be running this giveaway for the next two weeks, starting today, ending July 18th. Winners of print copies, if local to me, will have their copies hand-delivered to them before I leave on my Canada vacation on July 23rd. Winners of print copies NOT local to me will have them mailed off before that same date. Winners of ebook copies will have the option of any or all of the formats created for my Kickstarter backers (EPUB, PDF, or MOBI).

I will announce winners on July 19th. Winners of print copies not local to me will need to provide me their snailmail addresses at that time. Winners of ebook copies will need to specify what format they want (or if they want all of them), and give me a valid email address to which to send the book. Info will need to be provided within 48 hours of the contest winner announcement, or else I’ll draw a different winner from the contest pool!

Winners of print copies, your print copies WILL be signed. You will need to tell me whether to sign them for you or to someone else, if you want to give the book to a friend or family member! If you want to give an ebook copy to somebody else, you can do that too!

And here’s what you need to do!

At bare minimum, you should drop a comment on this post (either the original post on angelakorrati.com, or its mirrors on LJ or Dreamwidth) and I will add you to the random pool of names from which I’ll draw.

If you do any of the following actions, I will give you an extra entry in the random pool, which will up your chances of winning. If I don’t actually see you doing this because I don’t follow you on the pertinent network, provide me a link or a screenshot by way of evidence! And yes, if you do more than one of these activities, you will get a chance for every activity you do.

  • Tweet the contest link on Twitter
  • Share the contest link on Facebook or Google+
  • Reblog the contest post on Tumblr
  • Post about the giveaway on your own blog or journal
  • Post a review of Faerie Blood on your own blog or journal
  • Rate and/or review Faerie Blood on any of the following: Amazon, B&N, the iBookstore, Smashwords, Goodreads

For extra bonus chances to win, if you do anything creative pertaining to Faerie Blood and this contest, that will win you FIVE extra entries in the draw! ‘Anything creative’ includes but is not limited to:

  • Comments on contest posts that eloquently pitch why you MUST have a copy of this book, even if you already have one. But you have to be extremely eloquent. Make your argument count!
  • Sketches/artwork of any characters in the cast or situation in the book!
  • Filk lyrics pertinent to any character or situation in the cast, or the Warder universe in general!
  • Poetry! I am partial to haikus and sonnets.
  • Fic of any length clearly set in the Warder universe–does not need to involve the Faerie Blood cast! (Note: keep it rated PG-13, please, in keeping with the overall style of the novel.)
  • Surprise me! But remember, it’s GOT to be an creative activity. Sculpture in LEGOS! Cake! Knitting! Whatever it is, you have to make something, and it’s got to be pertinent to Faerie Blood and/or the Warder universe.

Any act of creativity must be posted somewhere I can see it, and you will need to provide me a link to it in the comments of the contest post or of its mirrors. And since the creative activities are harder and require more effort, and also because they are worth more chances in the random pool, limit one per entrant, please!

Also, I will specifically showcase the awesomeness of any creative activity, even if you don’t win, in future posts on this blog. If you’re somebody engaged in your own creative work, consider this an opportunity to promote yourself! I will link you RIGHT UP and tell people to go check you out!

Any questions, just give me a shout! And again, happy 4th to all who are celebrating today!

Right then, sorry about not posting this yesterday, y’all, but this is what I get for being smacked upside the head with a 36-or-so-hour bug. I spent most of yesterday sleeping!

But now it’s time to announce the winner of my little Safe Upon the Shore of Faerie contest! Since I had only three entries, but since all three entrants offered more than just one of the options I suggested of title, caption, and drabble, I’m actually going to offer one main prize and two backup prizes!

GutterBall, because of the line about “I have feet” and the line about the Kraken, you get the main prize of your choice: a) a copy of the shiny shiny Safe Upon the Shore goodness, from the music vendor of your choice; b) a $25 gift certificate from the book vendor of your choice; or c) a copy of either Faerie Blood or Defiance, your choice! (You can have them both, if you like, even.) Please to email me your choice!

Jess and Sticckler: because you guys also jumped in, and because I liked your entries too, I want to give you each a little something as well so I will offer you both a $10 gift certificate from the Drollerie Press bookstore OR any other book vendor of your choice! Again, please email me your request.

Thanks all for entering!

Okay folks, we’re down to the wire here. Safe Upon the Shore drops on Tuesday! So I’ll be announcing the winner of my Safe Upon the Shore of Faerie contest on Tuesday evening.

And I STILL have only two entries! This is just silly, you guys, so I really need some more people in on this action. So I’m going to up the stakes! In addition to accepting entries as per my original rules, I’ll ALSO add anybody to the drawing if I see evidence that you’ve done one of the following:

  • Tweeted about it (including any RT’s of my own tweets)
  • Posted to Facebook
  • Posted to your own blogs and journals
  • Posted anywhere else you see fit

For bonus goodness, if any efforts of yours actually bring me a new entry to the contest, I’ll note you as entered in the random draw TWICE.

Additionally, I will add one $25 gift certificate to the book vendor of your choice if the original prizes (i.e., a copy of the album or a copy of either of my Drollerie-published works) don’t work for you. This makes the final prize list as follows:

  • Gift certificate
  • Tasty shiny new Great Big Sea musics (and I still heartily, heartily encourage you all to get a copy of this album even if you don’t get it from me; Kendis would TOTALLY be buying this album)
  • Words written by me, either in Faerie Blood or Defiance! And if you choose the latter, you also get tasty words by Laura Anne Gilman or Joely Sue Burkhart!

So spread the word, you all! Get me some new folks in here and new names for the draw! You have 48 hours!

Hey folks, just wanted to put out one more reminder that there’s one week left until the release of Safe Upon the Shore by my B’ys of Great Big Sea–and therefore one week left in my Safe Upon the Shore of Faerie contest!

If it’ll help make up your minds, the fine folks over at greatbigsea.com have announced that you can preview the album in its entirety right over here. Go see if that inspires you, and if it does, come back and give me an entry! I’ve got only two entries at this point so chances of winning are very, VERY good. C’mon, folks, I want to hear from you!

Hey folks, I’ve gotten in a couple entries now on my Safe Upon the Shore of Faerie contest, but I’d really love to get more! Don’t forget, I’ll be taking entries until the release date of the new Great Big Sea album, which is July 13th!

Looking forward to seeing what other creative little snippets might show up on the post! And y’all should come over anyway and see what Jess and GutterBall have already submitted, ’cause they gave me some lovely little bits of prose, too!

Y’all know what banishes the sting of two rejection letters in one week? A CONTEST, that’s what!

If you’ve hung around my other blog or its LJ or Dreamwidth mirrors for more than five minutes, you’ll have figured out fast that I’m a raving fangirl for Great Big Sea, a high-energy Celtic/folk band out of Newfoundland. I love these guys with the fiery passion of a thousand burning suns. I particularly love them right now, because on July 13th, they’re going to put out a brand new album.

And this is where you guys come in! When they announced the album’s release date, they also released a shot of the cover art. The very first thing that popped into my head when I saw it was “gosh, that looks like the cover of a novel, I wonder what the story of those two people is!” And I want all of you to tell me!

You can see the cover art right here, since the album’s available for preorder on Amazon. Go take a look. Then come back and give me one of the following:

  1. A hypothetical title for the novel this scene might come from
  2. A caption describing the scene
  3. A drabble-length description of the scene (that’s 100 words, for those of you not familiar with fanfic terminology)

Bonus points will be awarded for clever humor, use of any element of the Faerie Blood universe, or anything referenced in the titles or lyrics of Great Big Sea songs. Extra bonus points will be given for use of more than one of these!

The winner of the contest will receive either a copy of the album, a copy of Faerie Blood, or a copy of Defiance, their choice!

If the winner chooses the album, I will either buy them a copy directly off of greatbigsea.com, or else send a gift certificate to the vendor of their choice from which they may purchase it themselves. If the winner chooses a physical CD, I will require a snailmail address to which to send it.

If the winner chooses either of my books, I will provide an electronic copy of same in the format of their choice.

Here are the official rules and other important things you need to know:

  1. I will accept entries up until the album’s release date, July 13th.
  2. Please submit entries on the angelakorrati.com original post, NOT on the LJ or DW mirror posts. This is so I can track all the entries in one place!
  3. Please enter only once.
  4. I am the final judge for who gets to win!
  5. Please keep the entries worksafe.
  6. This contest is not in any way officially connected to greatbigsea.com, although I did contact them about it and received the blessing of their site admins. I am running this contest purely as an exercise of my fandom for the band, and will be buying the winner’s copy of the album at my own expense. :)
  7. If you’re already a GBS fan and you plan to buy a copy of the album anyway, don’t let this stop you from participating! Albums make excellent gifts.
  8. Ditto for if you already own either or both of my books!

(And oh yeah: if you haven’t heard GBS before, or if you want a taste of the new album to help you decide whether you want it, scamper up to greatbigsea.com and look for their streaming player. Three songs from the album are currently available there. The title track, “Safe Upon the Shore”, is my current favorite; it’s full of tasty, tasty harmony! Go check it out.)

Here’s another shot for y’all to win Faerie Blood if you’re up for it–but this time, the contest is being held by my beloved userinfosolarbird, who has finished a work EP for her forthcoming very first CD, to be titled Dick Tracy Must Die! Dara is recording every track on this thing singlehandedly, including vocals, bodhran, bouzouki, mandolin, flute, bass, and other instrumenty goodness. I am, frankly, in awe that she’s made herself sound like an entire band.

But she has! And she is Crime and the Forces of Evil! And her contest, wherein she’ll put folks into a drawing to win either a copy of her EP, a copy of my book, or a picture of our cats is over here. Check it out, and fear not, you can tell the Forces of Evil I sent you.

Announcement the first: It has come to my attention that a shiny new release by Seattle author userinfomdhenry, Battle of the Network Zombies, is being given away on both Amazon and Barnes and Noble’s ebook sites. So if you’re a Kindle or Nook owner, you might want to scamper over to your site of choice and grab this third installment of the Amanda Feral series! Then, if you really like it, go buy the print version. Because Seattle authors are awesome that way.

Announcement the second: Drollerie is participating in an auction for diabetes, being held by romantic suspense author Brenda Novak. Lots of tasty goodies are being put up for bid, stuff that should appeal to writers and readers alike, and it’s all for a good cause. If you’re interested in supporting this worthy endeavor, you can find out more over here. And if you want to see what Drollerie editor userinfoserasempre is putting up for bid, you can look here and here.

And last but most assuredly not least, announcement the third:

The winner of the What Should Anna Name Her Nook? poll is NOOKRONOMICON!

This means JGS is the winner of the poll! And since he elected to share his prize with Stickmaker, since Stickmaker built on his idea for the winning name, that means it’s a two-way prize split! Gentlemen, you may each have one of the previous listed prizes:

  • Free electronic copies of both Faerie Blood and Defiance in the format of your choice
  • A free print copy of anything Drollerie currently has in print
  • A $25 gift certificate to the Drollerie Press bookstore

Please to contact me through appropriate channels to let me know what your choice is, and appropriate contact data to which to send your prize! Thanks all for participating!

Okay all, here we go with the official What Should Anna Name Her Nook? poll! Here are the rules:

  1. If you’re reading this anywhere besides angelakorrati.com, please click through to the original post to cast your vote. As always, I’m putting it on my official site to accommodate non-LJ or LJ-site-like users who don’t have the ability to answer polls in LJ-style sites without being members of them.
  2. Although this might be self-evident, if you want to vote, do please actually cast your vote in the poll. Votes cast in the comments will not count, and that also goes for votes cast in the comments of any mirrors of the original post.
  3. All voters may cast up to three votes for their favorite choices.
  4. The poll will remain open until midnight, March 1st, Pacific/Cascadia time.
  5. The winner of the poll will be announced on March 1st, and will be given three days to get their contact data to me so that I can arrange to get them their prize! If I don’t hear from the winner in that time frame, I’ll move on to whoever was next in line with the vote count. (However, if that occurs, I retain authorial privilege to keep the original winning name for the Nook if I so prefer.)

And to review the prizes, the winner may have one of three things, their choice:

  1. Free electronic copies of both Faerie Blood and Defiance, in the format of their choice. I have PDFs of both immediately available, and ePub for Faerie Blood. I can also get copies in Microsoft Reader, Mobipocket, and Sony Reader formats.
  2. A free print copy of any Drollerie Press book currently available.
  3. A $25 gift certificate to the Drollerie Press bookstore.

Let’s get to it then, shall we? The poll is behind the fold, and is also now displayed on the sidebar of angelakorrati.com, so you can get to it either way! Make with the voting, y’all!
